Consultation

Learn more about coaching before committing.

Bolster Coaching offers a free 30-minute consultation to see if coaching is the right approach. During this time, we’ll talk through what’s going on, learn more about coaching, and discuss the coaching process and logistics. Please read about the difference between therapy and coaching before scheduling.

*For clients under 18, a parent or guardian should attend the first meeting. An additional free consultation with the coach and the under 18 client is available upon request.

What is Coaching

Coaching is a client-centered, forward-looking, action oriented, process that helps teens and young adults build skills, gain confidence, and take steps toward their goals.

Coaching begins with a personalized assessment to understand how life is currently going, and the client’s strengths, challenges, values, and goals. Sessions are tailored to each client; with the goal of building skills they can carry forward independently. When appropriate, the coach collaborates with therapists, counselors, or school teams if helpful.

Who Coaching Supports

Bolster Coaching works with teens and young adults (ages 12–26), including those who are neurodiverse (ADHD, autism, learning differences, or other diagnoses).

Every client is treated as a unique individual. The coach partners with parents, providers, and educators when appropriate to ensure well-rounded support.

Topics We Cover

Executive Functioning Skills

Tools for time management, organization, planning backward from deadlines, and staying on top of school, work, or personal goals.

Coaching in this area helps teens and young adults build structure and confidence around how they learn and get things done. Clients learn how to break big projects into smaller steps, manage distractions, and use calendars, apps, or planners effectively. This includes navigating and gaining fluency in school grading and assignment platforms and calendars. We also practice strategies for follow-through and accountability, skills that transfer to every area of life.

Life Transitions

Support for adjusting to new schools, grade levels, moves, family changes, or identity shifts.

Transitions can bring uncertainty and stress. Coaching provides a steady space to process change, develop coping strategies, and re-establish routines. Clients learn how to adapt with resilience and use change as an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.

Academic Success

Personalized strategies to reach academic goals using evidence-based tools.

Whether it’s improving grades, tackling procrastination, or learning how to study effectively, coaching supports each student’s unique learning style. We focus on goal setting, motivation, and practical tools that make school more manageable and more meaningful.

Self-Exploration & Decision Making

Assessments and coaching tools to help clients discover passions, strengths, and growth opportunities.

Through guided reflection and conversation, clients explore what matters most to them. We use assessments, curiosity-driven questioning, and strengths-based exercises to uncover values, interests, and emerging identities, building clarity and confidence in decision-making.

College & Career Planning

Guidance for navigating choices about majors, careers, and life direction, aligned with personal values and goals.

Coaching helps teens and young adults take ownership of their future. Together, we identify priorities, research options, and create actionable plans for college applications, internships, or career exploration. The goal is not just to “pick a path,” but to build the skills to make informed, aligned choices over time.

Anxiety Coaching

Practical coaching strategies for managing worry, overwhelm, and stress. This includes support for those that experince social anxiety.

For many young people, anxiety shows up around performance, social situations, or life transitions. Coaching offers tools for grounding, reframing unhelpful thoughts, and building self-trust. We use gentle accountability and mindfulness-informed strategies to help clients feel calmer and more capable in daily life.
